Our Methods: Vibration Therapy

What is it?

V-matIt is a device that generates vibrations at certain frequencies which are transmited by the platform to the person standing or sitting on the unit.

Vibrations generated make your muscles contract without your involvement. This effect combined with exercise makes the workout much more effective and helps to gain muscle power and tone in shorter time.

How does it work?

As a result of continous muscle activity throughout the body, the circulation increases as the muscles are pumping the blood. Mechanical oscillation of the platform reaches the joint surfaces producing joint gliding which encourages joint lubrication and proprioception. Mechanical stimulus is also transferred to the bone where it works on the bone microarchitecture and increases bone mineral density (BMD).

Our Methods

“Space flight where weightlessness places no strain on bone or muscle leads to fairly rapid loss of bone ans muscle mass and strength. Scientists have discovered that such bone loss may be prevented or recouped by standing on a vibrating plate for 10 to 20 minutes per day."

"WBV (Whole Body Vibration) aims to increase muscle strength with additional beneficial effect on bone.”

……………

“Whole Body Vibration transiently improves muscle performance of lower extremieties and body balance."
